Activity: Graphing Board Game- Tiger Math

Materials: 1 die (numbers 1-3), Tiger gameboard, question cards, answer sheet, markers for 2-4 players

Procedure: Read the book together. Take time to talk about the story and the information on the graphs. Ask questions throughout the process to be sure that the student understands the story and why one might use graphs to show information. When you are finished reading the book, play the game using the directions below. Choose a vocabulary activity to reinforce meaning.

Game Directions:
1. Each player rolls the die. The lowest roll goes first.
2. Each player rolls and moves the number of spaces on the dice. If the player lands on a tiger, he picks up a tiger card, reads it and answers the question. He can use the book to help.
3. If the answer is correct, the player moves ahead one more space. If the answer is not correct, the player stays on the space. If the player answers a BONUS question correctly, he rolls again.
4. The winner is the player who gets to the zoo first.
